Our followers shared their thoughts on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie saying taxpayers couldn’t join him at the beach because “they’re not the governor.”

Christie’s got nothing to lose. No one likes him and he won’t be re-elected. This sort of showed his character. @SalKrinkle

If Christie closed this beach to the public, then he had no business using it either. Rent a room on a beach that was open! @FryMari

If you’re outraged by Christie’s actions, don’t vote selfserving politicians into office in the first place, and don’t buy from the companies that support them. @LetsGoHeather

Why does the job of governor come with an oceanfront summer house? They could probably help close the budget gap by renting it out. @buzzblog

Since the state pays for that residence, it is closed. Christie should go have gone to a hotel and paid for it himself. @lswifty001
