QATAR AIRWAYS REMOVED FROM LAPTOP BAN LIST

Qatar Airways on Thursday was pulled from the list of airlines with a laptop ban on flights to the United States. Etihad Airways got off the list Sunday, and Emirates and Turkish airlines were removed Wednesday. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security had said airlines could be removed from the prohibition against electronics larger than cellphones if they met tougher security measures announced June 28. The standards are aimed at detecting explosives hidden in electronics.
