NO CHARGES FOR IRVIN
Prosecutors have declined to file sexual assault charges against former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin because of a lack of evidence, according to the Broward County (Fla.) State Attorney’s Office. The Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver was accused of sexual assault in March when a 27-year-old woman said Irvin drugged and raped her March 22 at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The case was transferred from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to the State Attorney’s Office in June. Irvin, 51, vehemently denied the accusations, calling the woman’s claims “heinous” and “the most difficult period my family and I have ever had to endure.”
