Princes honor Di’s legacy
In honor of Di, her sons share more personal photos
William and Harry release more from their mom’s albums
As the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death nears, Prince William and Prince Harry continue to pay tribute to their mother by releasing photos from her personal collection.
Diana died after a car crash in a Paris tunnel on Aug. 31, 1997.
In addition to photos shared Sunday on the Kensington Royal Twitter account early Monday morning, two more photos from Diana’s own album were released and tweeted by the Palace.
One photograph captures a tender moment between Harry and his mother, in coordinating white ensembles, aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. Nestled in Diana’s lap, Harry sits on a blanket surrounded by colorful toys. Diana, sporting large shades, gives a subtle smile.
Another image shows Harry and William dressed as police- men. Wearing khakis and blue shirts, each accessorizes with a helmet, tie and belt and holster. William appears to be squinting from the brightness of the sun.
The royal brothers also share memories of their mother in the ITV documentary Diana, Our
Mother: Her Life and Legacy airing Monday (HBO, 10 ET/PT).
“Our mother was a total kid through and through,” Harry says in the film. “When everybody says to me you know, ‘So she was fun? Give us an example,’ all I can hear is her laugh in my head, and that sort of crazy laugh of where there was just pure happiness shown on her face.”
“One of her mottos to me was, ‘You can be as naughty as you want, just don’t get caught,’ ” he adds. “She was one of the naughtiest parents.”
