VIKINGS EXTEND GRIFFEN
Pro Bowl defensive end Everson Griffen agreed to a four-year extension Wednesday with the Minnesota Vikings, keeping him under contract through the 2022 season. Griffen had two years remaining on his deal before the extension. “Man, this means I’m a Vike for life,” Griffen said, per the team’s official website. “I appreciate the coaching staff, the ownership, the organization.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but NFL Network reported it was worth $58 million, including $34 million in guaranteed money. Griffen, 29, has recorded 48 sacks in seven seasons with the Vikings, including eight last season.
