You’ll want to #BookmarkThis.

On Thursday, join USA TODAY for a Facebook live chat with Tom Perrotta about his new novel,

Mrs. Fletcher (Scribner). #BookmarkThis is a series of live video chats with best-selling authors, and fans can submit questions.

It’s a great opportunity to touch base with Perrotta, whose timely, often darkly humorous novels about suburbia include Election and Little

Children ( both of which became movies) and The Leftovers, the basis for the apocalyptic HBO series.

SEX IN THE SUBURBS In Mrs. Fletcher (on sale Tuesday), a placid divorcée becomes obsessed with X-rated websites, while her jock son struggles with the gender wars waging at his college.

At age 46, Eve Fletcher is executive director of a local senior center and confronting an empty nest when her personal life becomes unexpectedly wild and woolly. Meanwhile, her clueless son, Brendan, seems to think it’s cool to treat girls like objects.

‘LEFTOVERS’ FINDS AN ENDING Perrotta co-created The Leftovers for HBO and was an executive producer. The series was spun off from his best-selling 2011 novel about those left behind after the mysterious “Sudden Departure” of millions of people from Earth. It starred Justin Theroux as Police Chief Kevin Garvey and wrapped its well-received third and final season in June.

HOW TO JOIN THE CHAT Join the Facebook Live chat Thursday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on the USA TODAY Life Facebook page. To learn more or to submit questions to Perrotta, visit perrottachat.usatoday.com.
