CRITIC’S CORNER
DIFFICULT PEOPLE HULU
Hulu’s cringe comedy is back for a third season following the misadventures of Julie and Billy, played by Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner. In the premiere, Julie must go to a Passover Seder without the help of antidepressants, and Billy gets a spot as a warm-up comic for a late-night show. The series always has a great roster of guest stars and the premiere is no exception: Larry Wilmore and Maury Povich play themselves.
WORLD OF DANCE NBC, 10 ET/PT
The final three acts dance their hearts out in the season finale of the Jennifer Lopez-produced dance competition series. Lopez, along with fellow judges Ne-Yo and Derek Hough, grade the acts on their artistry, precision and athleticism, and the one who gets the top score will walk away with $1 million.
THE FOSTERS FREEFORM, 8 ET/PT
The weepy family drama, about an interracial lesbian couple raising a family of adopted and biological kids, is keeping the melodrama turned up in its fifth season. In tonight’s episode, the Fosters kids attend a party that’s busted by the cops, Lena (Sherri Saum) has a hard time when Stef (Teri Polo) becomes too involved in a case at work, and Brandon’s (David Lambert) relationship with Grace (Meg DeLacy) may be at risk.
