MCCAIN PROPOSES OWN AFGHANISTAN STRATEGY

Frustrated by what he says is a lack of direction from the Trump administration on the Afghanistan war, Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain is taking strategy into his own hands and calling for an increase in U.S. troops there.

The Arizona Republican announced Thursday that he is offering an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for 2018 that would offer a strategy for dealing with the war.
