IRAN THREATENS TO RESTART ITS NUCLEAR PROGRAM
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tuesday that his country could abandon the nuclear deal it struck with six world powers in 2015 “within hours” if the United States imposes any more sanctions.
Rouhani said the deal could be abandoned “in an hour and a day” if Washington continues with “threats and sanctions.”
“If America wants to go back to the experience (of imposing sanctions), Iran would certainly return in a short time ... to conditions more advanced than before the start of negotiations,” he told lawmakers in televised comments.
