INDYCAR’S BOURDAIS CLEARED TO RETURN
Less than three months after his horrific crash in Indianapolis 500 qualifying, Verizon IndyCar Series driver Sebastien Bourdais has been medically cleared to return to the racetrack. There’s no official word on when he’ll race again. A month after the crash, he said he had his eyes on returning to Sonoma on Sept. 17 or even Watkins Glen on Sept. 3.
Sebastian Saavedra will replace Mikhail Aleshin in Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ No. 7 car this weekend at Pocono Raceway and the following weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park. The Colombian will join James Hinchcliffe in the SPM garage.
