Justin Bieber’s ‘Friends’
Justin Bieber is in good company on Friends, the new single he shared with fans Thursday. The track reunites Bieber with producer BloodPop and songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, the team that engineered his single Sorry from 2015 album Purpose. Bieber is having a red-hot summer, thanks largely to his feature on Despacito, as Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s track tops the Hot 100 for a 14th straight week. Thankfully for fans, Friends finally jailbreaks Bieber from the soulless trop-house prison of his other EDM one-offs. BloodPop gives the track a disco-ball sparkle that borrows the throbbing synths and in-my-feelings lyrics of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own.
