Report on brain injuries in football players causes some to question the sport.

The closest most of us get to the game is with a remote. There are a lot of ways to teach tenacity, teamwork and respect, and only one of them involves requiring players to risk their health for our pleasure. Mike Bates There are a variety of sports that pose risks to participan­ts. In addition to the NFL, the NHL and pro wrestling have significan­t head injury stats. The issue I have is that for some time evidence was kept from participan­ts and from parents of minors. As long as participan­ts are adults and are given the facts, I have no objections. Brian Eden

The only reason brain injuries keep being brought up is the denial by the NFL. The league should have addressed this long ago and accepted that injuries happen to all parts of the body, including the brain. Rod Scapillat
