Clooney baby pics not for sale

Shots of twins would draw top dollar

And there they are. On Saturday afternoon, George Clooney whips out his iPhone and shows off a photo of his chubby, adorable twins. “My wife sent me this, this morning,” he says, greeting this reporter solo inside an airy, empty room at the Ritz-Carlton.

Clooney grins at the shot of Ella and Alexander, who are now 3 months old, saying his favorite time with his babies is in the early hours. “They sleep for about four hours every night, which is nice. But then after they get their morning breakfast and they’re fat and happy, they giggle and they laugh and they sleep. They’re just funny.”

Clooney is at Toronto International Film Festival with his new socially conscious satire about white privilege, Suburbicon (in theaters Oct. 27), which has received a mixed reception from critics.

He reveals an upside of going back to work: “I have two knuckleheads at home, so I haven’t been sleeping much. Actually, coming here I got more sleep,” he says.

Whether or not the public will meet his children is another question. The actor/director recently was angered by a paparazzo who sneaked onto his Lake Como property in Italy. Grainy photos of Clooney and his wife, Amal, carrying the twins were sold to various tabloids.

“I was really disturbed by a guy who climbed the fence and then climbed up a tree,” he says. “And then I was really disturbed by a guy who tried to sneak into our hotel in Venice. I know the price that’s on our kids’ heads, that photograph.”

“We’d like to not do it,” he continues. “We’ve discussed it in detail, only to take the bounty off their heads, but it’s really hard to do because we really enjoy it being ours. If we did it, we’d just donate the money. But my hope is that we won’t have to.”

While Clooney is in Toronto, the twins (who have dual British and American citizenship) recently made their way to Los Angeles with their mom.

Taking in his little ones, this reporter reflexively says she still can’t believe the longtime bachelor now has children.

“I can’t believe it either,” he says, shaking his head. “It’s actually (expletive) crazy. I was worried about being too old, but you know, it’s fun. I’m having a blast.”
