IOC MEETS ON 2024, ’28

- From staff and wire reports

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach won’t have an envelope-opening moment, and he isn’t going to get the signature celebration from a city chosen to host the Games. Instead, the meeting Wednesday in Lima, Peru, is set to be drama free. The IOC is expected to ratify an agreement that would award the 2024 Olympics to Paris and the 2028 Olympics to Los Angeles during its four-day session. “To be able to have two cities go down there feeling like they’re both winners, working together there, understanding for the next seven years we’ll be working together, there’s a lot of good feeling that should come out of that,” said Casey

Wasserman, chairman of LA 2028. “So hopefully that just kind of permeates the entire IOC session.”
