THE VIETNAM WAR PBS, SUNDAY, 8 ET/PT (TIMES MAY VARY)

Ken Burns’ latest documentary series is an intense and extensive look at the Vietnam War, its causes and its aftermath. Codirected by Burns and Lynn Novick, the 18-hour project will air in 10 parts on PBS, this week and next, Sunday through Thursday. The first, “Déjà Vu,” premieres tonight, and digs into Vietnam’s emergence from a century of French occupation as an independent but divided nation.
