TWISTY AND OTHER MURDEROUS CLOWNS, AHS: CULT

PEDIGREE: Twisty (John Carroll Lynch) horrified denizens of AHS’ fourth season, Freak Show, along with scare-seeking fans of the popular horror anthology series. Twisty is such a hit that he’s now got his own comic book series within Cult. WHO SHOULD BE SCARED:

Affluent progressives, since the clowns are focused on overwhelmed restaurant owner and anti-Trumper Ally (Sarah Paulson) in this politics-tinged season.

SCARE FACTOR: 4. Twisty’s missing lower jaw gets a 4 all by itself. Ally’s supermarket duel with killer clowns — she grabs a bottle of rosé in self-defense — is more funny than scary, although clown sex in the produce section (or anyone having sex there, for that matter) should send a shiver down grocery shoppers’ spines.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD crazy and violent, but a lot of their act is performance art. And Batman is eventually going to prevail.
