Robert De Niro went to the U.N. Monday to appeal for help to rebuild Barbuda and ensure that “paradise is not lost.” De Niro spoke at a meeting on Hurricane Irma, which damaged or destroyed an estimated 90% of the structures on the small island, home to a resort co-owned by the actor. “We must act together to help the most vulnerable,” De Niro said. “The recovery process will be a long, hard road.”
