Niall Horan’s ‘Too Much To Ask’
One Direction’s breakup may be the best thing to happen to Niall Horan. While the group’s resident blond Irishman often was overlooked as Zayn Malik and Harry Styles positioned themselves for solo careers, Horan has flourished since the boy band’s split, releasing the wellreceived Slow Hands and plotting a tour with country star Maren Morris, with whom he collaborated on his new album. This week, Horan announced that debut album, Flicker (out Oct. 20), before sharing new single Too Much To Ask. Horan will be the third One Direction member to release a solo record. And in contrast with Malik’s R&B leanings and Styles’ glam-rock nostalgia, Too Much To Ask doesn’t stray far from the accessible pop of 1D —it’s an emotional ballad with just the slightest hint of a country twang.
