JUDGE HEARS ARGUMENTS ON TRUMP TRAVEL BAN
A federal judge in Maryland held a hearing Monday on three lawsuits requesting preliminary injunctions to block the most recent Trump administration travel restrictions. The lawsuits, before U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang, argue that restricting travel for citizens of predominantly Muslim countries violates the U.S. Constitution.
The administration announced the most recent restrictions in September, affecting citizens of Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria and Yemen and some Venezuelan government officials and their families. They’re to go into effect Wednesday.
