Bill O’Reilly’s claims don’t add up to his settlement

Bill O’Reilly dismissed as “lies and smear” the details in a report saying he had a contract with 21st Century Fox after reaching a $32 million sexual harassment settlement.

You gotta love people like President Trump, O’Reilly, Harvey Weinstein, etc. They cry “lies and smears” but never do anything about it. If it’s untrue, then O’Reilly should sue for libel, defamation or slander. If he doesn’t, then I guess it’s true because no normal human being would let themselves be thought of as a sexual assailant unless it’s true. Brett Vredenburg

Trump makes it easy for guys like O’Reilly to just say, “Hey, this is just fake news!” Trump set the example of what a colossal liar acts like. Awful. Michael A. Shea

The sad fact is given how the news media have been proven liars and biased, using “unnamed sources” immediately makes me tag this story as fake news. Joe Vialonga

If O’Reilly paid a woman $32 million, you could safely bet that what he did to her was not merely horrendous but criminal to boot. Nothing short of staying out of prison is worth all that! Buz Chertok

“But I’m innocent. I tell you, I’m innocent.” Yep, $32 million sounds innocent to me. William T. Freer

As usual, sexual harassment and assault are rampant in leftist circles like Hollywood, but the news media decided to focus on a probably false claim of a known right-leaning person.

Mike Arvand

I don’t understand why O’Reilly would bother to deny or even address the report. It isn’t as if his audience cares.

Just like with Harvey Weinstein, Bill Clinton, Roman Polanski and Roger Ailes, we need to rid ourselves of these powerful men who prey on female subordinates. Absolutely unacceptable. This has to change. I think with the access to instant news media, all women should now have the courage to stand up to these dirt bags. Bryan Sackmann

We asked our followers their thoughts on Bill O’Reilly’s sexual harassment settlement and his “Fox News” contract.

I guess “Fox News” must condone this behavior, and so does anyone else who watches the channel. @_warmington

While I don’t condone his actions, why is the news media making this a bigger headline than other sexual predators who come from the liberal side? @Thompowdah

There must be more higher ups doing worse than O’Reilly in order for them to settle and for O’Reilly to still have a career after Fox. @eric_martinez6

The left-leaning media went after all conservatives on Fox and made it obvious they were false claims. I’ll be watching O’Reilly. @AutumnNavy

Complete and total insult to women! I refuse to watch “Fox News.” The women who work there should be angry and sue. @OconnorPeggy
