AETNA GROUP LIFE UNIT TO GO FOR $1.45B IN DEAL

The Hartford Financial Services Group has agreed to a $1.45 billion acquisition of Aetna’s U.S. group life and disability business in a deal that will expand its business of selling benefits to employers. The acquisition is expected to make the company the second-largest group life and disability insurer.
