CELEBRATION TRIP TURNS TO TRAGEDY
As New Yorkers rose to their feet after the first deadly terrorist strike on their city since 9/11, Argentinians held a vigil, at top, in front of “Politecnico” high school in Rosario, Argentina. Five of the eight people killed in Tuesday’s attack, were part of a group of friends, at left, who traveled to New York to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their graduation from Politecnico. The Argentinians, and a Belgian mother of two who was among the dead, “came from other nations because they saw New York as a special place to be, and we now and forever will consider them New Yorkers,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said. “They shared this tragedy with us.”
