Republicans are selling out constituents
The tax plan my congressman, Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., sold in his recent column is a bad deal for the nation and his constituents. Roskam claims the plan will help parents save for their kids’ college tuition. He neglects to mention students will be even more in debt, because they’ll no longer be able to deduct interest on their loans. Adding to our national debt will also mean higher taxes for them eventually. Reducing state and local deductions, along with the mortgage interest deduction, will hit Roskam’s district. I feel that I’m being sold out by a congressman who wants to carve up the middle class.
