The eight-part miniseries, based on the book by journalist Martha Raddatz, tells the story of “Black Sunday” in April 2004, in which a platoon of American soldiers was ambushed in Sadr City, Iraq. Eight soldiers died and 65 were wounded. The series is a fictionalized version of events and follows the action and aftermath of the battle, both in Sadr City and in Fort Hood, where loved ones waited for news. The cast includes Jason Ritter, Kate Bosworth, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sarah Wayne Callies ( The Walking Dead).
