South Carolina doesn’t have drugs needed for execution Dec.1
South Carolina can’t carry out its first execution in more than six years because the state doesn’t have the drugs needed for lethal injection, Gov. Henry McMaster said Monday.
Last week, the Department of Corrections received its first execution order in more than six years. State Supreme Court justices set an execution date of Dec. 1 for Bobby Wayne Stone, 52, who killed a Sumter County sheriff ’s deputy. The state’s supply of pentobarbital expired in 2013.
