Lynch to start for Broncos

- Staff and wire reports

The Denver Broncos are ready to turn the reins at quarterback over to Paxton

Lynch. The 2016 first-round pick will start for the Broncos in Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, a person with knowledge of the decision told USA TODAY’s Tom Schad. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not been officially announced. Lynch started two games as a rookie while filling in for Trevor Sie

mian, who won the starting job in training camp. He was once again unable to beat out Siemian this summer, and a sprained shoulder kept him out of commission for more than two months to start the season. Brock Osweiler, who rejoined Denver in September in a backup role, took over for Siemian in Week 9. But he has thrown for just three touchdowns and four interceptions in three starts.
