-

Gus Malzahn will be staying at Auburn, according a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not been made public. Auburn

Undercover was first with the report. In the new deal, which comes after serious overtures from Arkansas, Malzahn receives a contract extension and significant raise, as well as a higher buyout.

After a third consecutive losing season, Louisiana-Lafeyette fired coach

Mark Hudspeth. He had led the team to four consecutive nine-win seasons and New Orleans Bowl victories. The last three seasons, however, were filled with a steady flow of controversy, scandals and question marks. The school will spend $1.5 million to buy out Hudspeth.
