76ers deal Okafor to Nets

-

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to trade center Jahlil Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas and a future second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for forward Trevor Booker, two people with knowledge of the agreement confirmed to USA TODAY. The people spoke under the condition of anonymity because the trade had not yet been announced publicly. Okafor, 21, was drafted by Philadelphia with the No. 3 overall pick in 2015 after one season at Duke. He averaged 17.5 points and seven rebounds during his rookie season but had since struggled to find a consistent spot in the rotation and had grown frustrated with his role, playing in just two games this season. ESPN and The Vertical first reported the trade agreement. Booker, who was in his second season with the Nets, is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds.
