Villanova climbs to top spot in men’s poll

For the first time this season, Duke is not the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY men’s basketball coaches poll. The top 10 is, however, doubly devilish this week. The Blue Devils fall from the top spot after suffering their first loss of the season at Boston College over the weekend. Kansas, which lost twice during the week to Pac-12 schools at home, tumbled further from the second position. Those results cleared the way for 10-0 Villanova to assume the No. 1 ranking. The Wildcats, who were fourth last week, edged ahead of No. 2 Michigan State.
