HOME PRICES UP ROBUST 6.2%

U.S. home prices climbed 6.2% from a year ago amid strong demand from would-be buyers and a shrinking supply of properties for sale. Standard & Poor’s said Tuesday its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller national home price index in October stood a solid 6% above its 2006 peak.

OIL PRICE HITS $60 A BARREL

Oil prices surged Tuesday on reports a pipeline explosion in Libya disrupted a chunk of the country’s crude supply. Internatio­nal benchmark Brent crude rose 2.8% to $67.06. U.S. West Texas Intermedia­te crude futures jumped $1.50, or 2.6%, to $59.97, having traded as high as $60, the best level since June 2015.

BITCOIN BACK ABOVE $16,000

Bitcoin rallied Tuesday, recovering from a sharp selloff last week. It briefly climbed to above $16,100 Tuesday, according to Coinbase, the leading U.S. platform for trading major digital currencies.
