Report: Mueller subpoenas Bannon for Russia investigation

Special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon in connection with the investigation into President Trump and alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Citing an anonymous source, The

New York Times reported that “the subpoena could be a negotiating tactic. Mr. Mueller is likely to allow Mr. Bannon to forgo the grand jury appearance if he agrees to instead be questioned by investigators in the less formal setting of the special counsel’s offices in Washington.”
