ABERCROMBIE SURPRISES INVESTORS WITH Q4 SALES

Fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch enjoyed better-than-anticipated sales during the period that included the holiday shopping season and plans to bring foreign profits to the U.S. after federal tax reform. Abercrombie announced Monday that its fiscal fourthquarter sales at stores open at least a year rose in the “high single digits.” That marks an unexpected improvement from the company’s previous projection of “low single digits.” The company’s fourth quarter includes all of November and December, as well as most of January.
