USA Gymnastics suspends coach

-

John Geddert, the one-time U.S. Olympic women’s gymnastics coach who worked with Larry Nassar, was suspended Monday by USA Gymnastics. Messages left for the coach of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team and owner of Twistars gymnastics training centers in Michigan were not returned. Chris

Bergstrom, Geddert’s Lansing-based attorney, said in an email Monday night that his client “only wishes to convey his heart-felt sympathy to all victims of Larry Nassar’s abuse.” Testimony at Nassar’s preliminary hearing on sexual assault charges and the victim impact statements at his sentencing hearing suggest that many who were abused were gymnasts from Twistars who either sought treatment for injuries at Nassar’s Michigan State University office or in a room at the Dimondale gym where Nassar saw athletes.
