CW’s more mature take on the superhero genre started off well last week and gets stronger in tonight’s episode as Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) reckons with his decision to wear his Black Lightning costume again. The series is interested in the community around its superhero and the ripple effects of the violence that plagues it, and the episode focuses on LaWanda (Tracey Bonner), whose daughter is being held by the 100 gang.
