Learn to compromise before February
Another government shutdown looms, and Democrats and Republicans will be again playing the “whose fault is it” blame game.
Recently, proposals were made and rejected. In a true indicator of a fair compromise, you should have an even number of Democrats and Republicans agreeing with said compromise. Instead, we’ve had a few Republicans not agreeing and no Democrats agreeing.
In order for this to work correctly, you need closer to half of each party coming up with a plan and the other (slightly less than half ) of each party not getting what they want. To those outliers, the true bipartisans who made a deal can say, “Oh well.” Brad Skiba DeWitt, Mich.
