Parking near stadium: $200 and up

Fans searching for a parking spot near U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday had to dig deep into their wallets to secure one.

In the hours before the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles kicked off Super Bowl LII, multiple parking lots near the stadium were charging $200 or more for a single spot, which is about what it costs to park for a month in downtown Minneapolis.

A third lot was advertising parking spaces for $160 apiece.

Parking near the stadium might have been more appealing given the weather in the area Sunday, which was in the single digits — with blistering wind, to boot. Officials said last week that it could be the coldest weather ever for a Super Bowl, though the game itself was played indoors.

And though the parking prices were steep, they paled in comparison to the cost of actually getting into the game. On Tuesday afternoon, the average price for tickets being sold on StubHub was $5,415. Face-value tickets started at $950 apiece.
