McDaniels withdraws from Colts

McDaniels has withdrawn from the position, a person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY, after his hiring was announced earlier Tuesday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither McDaniels nor the Colts had made the move official. ESPN was the first to report the news. The Colts had scheduled a news conference for Wednesday for McDaniels to be introduced. He was in line for his second run as a head coach after leading the Denver Broncos (2009-10). He has served as the Patriots offensive coordinator since 2012.
