Trump’s treason talk is troublesom­e

President Trump called Democrats’ reaction to his State of the Union Address last week “treasonous” and “unAmerican.”

I don’t know what you call colluding with the enemy to sabotage our elections. I call that treason, if proven. Mike Bates Trump accusing Democrats of treason because they didn’t clap enough for him is indicative of a man with a massive yet fragile ego that constantly needs stroking. Steve Evets

I don’t watch many presidents’ speeches or State of the Union addresses because most of them are hot air and grandstand­ing. But during one of President Obama’s speeches, I clearly re- member Republican congressme­n booing him and even one guy was yelling he was a liar. To me, that is treasonous. Not clapping for someone is a civil way of showing your disapprova­l. Harold Cox

Republican­s have been trying to stick the “bad American” label on liberals for as long as I can remember, because they don’t goose step to the conservati­ve beat.

Meanwhile, Democrats have stuck with the conservati­ves are “bad human beings” because they don’t goose-step to the liberal beat.
