EU OFFICIAL SEEKS TARIFF EXEMPTION FROM U.S.
The European Union’s top trade official says the 28-nation bloc should be “excluded” from President Trump’s new 25% tariff on steel and 10% import tax on aluminum. Cecilia Malmstrom plans to convey that message to U.S. representatives in talks in Washington on Tuesday. Trump is temporarily exempting Canada and Mexico from the tariffs. The EU has drawn up a list of duties to slap on U.S. products if it is not exempted.
