LOLLAPALOOZA

-

Lollapalooza lovers, put your pinky rings up to the moon, because Bruno Mars is this year’s big headliner. Mars will join the Weeknd, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys and Travis Scott at the Chicago festival. But Lollapalooza didn’t book any women to headline its two biggest stages. (The other three headliners are the National, Vampire Weekend and Odesza.) As the Me Too and Time’s Up movements gain momentum, the gender gap in the music industry has come under increased scrutiny, including criticism of male-heavy-festival lineups and outrage that more than 90% of Grammy nominees from 2013 to 2018 were men, according to a University of Southern California study.
