MAKING WAVES WALMART
The retailer is moving Cosmopolitan to a less uptown locale. Walmart will remove the magazine from checkout lines at 5,000 stores across the country and place it in racks farther back in stores. Walmart spokeswoman Meggan Kring said it was a business decision, though other concerns were heard. Those concerns come in part from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, an organization that says it helped instigate the change and has fought to remove or cover the women’s magazine, which it considers pornography.
