MCDONALD’S EXPANDS EMPLOYEE TUITION PLAN

-

McDonald’s is making its tuition assistance program more accessible for its workers. Previously, employees had to be on the job nine months before they could potentially get assistance, but that has been reduced to 90 days. And the weekly shift minimum of 20 hours has dropped to 15. The amount of aid also is on the rise, up to as much as $2,500 a year from the current $700. The new guidelines take effect May 1 but are retroactive to Jan. 1.
