McCain in stable condition after surgery for intestinal infection
Sen. John McCain, who is battling a deadly form of brain cancer, underwent surgery for an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis, his Senate office announced Monday.
“On Sunday, Senator McCain was admitted to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, and underwent surgery to treat an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis. He is in stable condition,” his office said in a statement.
The statement said the senator has been in physical therapy as he recovers from the side effects of cancer treatment.
