Billionaire banking heir Matthew Mellon has died, reportedly at a Mexican rehab facility. He was 54. According to The Associated Press, his cousin Peter Stephaich confirmed Mellon’s death but declined Tuesday to provide any details. Mellon attended the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and later worked in fashion, telecommunications and finance, most recently as an adviser for digital currency company Ripple Labs. Mellon made his fortune in cryptocurrency, turning a $2 million investment into $1 billion.
