ESPN’s Dick Vitale, on a promise he made to Tony Colton before the 17year-old died in August. Vitale has been raising money for pediatric cancer research at his gala for more than a decade. Set May 11 at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota, Fla., Vitale is “very optimistic” he’ll raise $3.5 million, which would lift the overall total to $25 million since he started the effort.
