Aguilera’s ‘Accelerate’
Christina Aguilera is making her comeback. The singer dropped the music video for new track
Accelerate last week. Kanye West produced the song along with Che Pope and Mike Dean.
Accelerate is a single from her upcoming album, Liberation, her first since 2012’s Lotus. It’s due June 15.
The Xtina-Yeezy collaboration is not a recent endeavor, however. She told Billboard they met to work on the song at Rick Rubin’s California studio shortly before the release of The Life of
Pablo, West’s 2016 album.
The track, which has a strong club vibe, also features Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz.
Accelerate’s lyrics (“C’mon babe, pick up the speed/ Stamina. Fill me up. That’s what I need.”) match the video’s provocative images, which include close-ups of Aguilera’s mouth and (censored) topless shots.
