Songwriters urge Congress to pass copyright changes

Smokey Robinson and songwriter Josh Kear urged Congress to pass the first major music copyright reform law in decades. They testified many songwriters are struggling financially because they are not being adequately paid for use of their songs. “People don’t buy music anymore. They stream it,” Kear told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
