It will be presented June 18 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Visser, who has a new memoir, Sometimes You Have To Cross When It Says Don’t Walk, is the 32nd person to receive the award, which honors lifetime achievemen­t in media. Cronkite was the first honoree, in 1989. The award is named for the late USA TODAY founder.
