Point lead for Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in the Formula One standings over Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton after Vettel won the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday in Montreal. He led from the pole to the checkered flag. The only hiccup was that the checkered flag was waved prematurely, while Vettel was still on his last lap. “Tell them not to wave the checkered flag when it’s not done yet,” he radioed back. Hamilton was fifth. It’s Vettel’s 50th career win and third of 2018.

World Golf Ranking for Dustin Johnson, after he won the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis. He shot 66 Sunday to finish at 19-under-par 261 in the PGA Tour event; runner-up Andrew Putnam, tied with Johnson entering the final round, shot 72. Johnson was No. 1 for 64 weeks before dropping down last month.
