Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande’s ‘Dance to This’
Less is more on “Dance to This,” the new collaboration between pop queen Ariana Grande and rising star Troye Sivan. The two vocalists whisper and sigh through their verses over a muted dance beat, in which Grande plays coy with her powerhouse vocals in her brief appearance on the song. “Dance to This” really belongs to Sivan, who already released one of 2018’s best singles with “My My My!,” a booming radio banger to the slow-burning seduction of “Dance to This.” Perhaps a livelier single would’ve made better use of Grande and Sivan’s substantial talents, but the subtle pop excellence of “Dance to This” will be more than enough to please their fans.
